According to Videocardz, the RTX 3060 could ship out in two variants: one version with 6GB GDDR6 and another with double that amount at 12GB GDDR6 memory. Obviously, news of the latter model has caused eyebrows to be raised, and rightly so. We already know that the RTX 3060 Ti will be launching with 8GB of GDDR6 graphics memory, and given NVIDIA’s track record, it seems very unlikely that the GPU maker would manufacture a lower-tier card with double the memory of a model that is literally a step above it.
Sadly, there are no further details about the card beyond this, other than the possibility that the RTX 3060’s GDDR6 memory may run at speeds of 16Gbps at launch. It’s also likely that the card could ship out with the same number of CUDA cores as its Ti counterpart, but that is really all just speculation at this stage.
