Part of the new information involves a “continuous loop” of a glass display around a device. In other words, it’s essentially like that of the aforementioned Mi Mix Alpha, having working screens on the front as well as back. It’s important to note that this is a patent update rather than a new filing.  According to Patently Apple, the company has 13 patents relating to this tech. The first one also dates all the way back to 2013.

All things considered, it’s not surprising for Apple to be sitting on this tech and not pushing out a product featuring it. After all, Apple is rarely a brand to chase new technological fads.
