According to 9to5Mac, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed that Apple is exploring the possibility of iPad designs with larger displays. This will further blur the lines between the iPad Pro and MacBook lines. Apple is already pushing a lot of productivity features onto its tablet line. This is especially so this year, with the company giving the latest iPad Pro it’s M1 chip.

In many ways, the iPad Pro has already done this when the first generation model was released with an optional keyboard accessory. Which, in turn, is reminiscent to when Microsoft first released the Surface. And with Apple fitting its best chip into the iPad Pro, the company’s smaller MacBooks will simply become a macOS alternative.

That being said, this size change, if it happens, is still a “couple of years down the road”. For now, the company is still working on a redesigned iPad Pro chassis with a glass back. This is to give the tablet wireless charging capabilities, possibly in both directions. This is currently slated for release next year. (Source: Bloomberg via 9to5Mac)
