Specifically, the HDR format that will be used in the broadcast is HLG and will be available for all of the tournament’s 51 matches regardless on whether its during live matches or replays. As mentioned in our previous report, Astro has reserved channel 781 and 782 specifically for the 4K UHD broadcast of UEFA Euro 2020. Aside from that, Dolby Atmos support will also be made available for the event. However, subscribers will only be able to enjoy it starting from the quarter-final stage onwards and exclusively for live matches. It goes without saying that you need a 4K UHD TV that supports HLG and Dolby Atmos to enjoy these enhancements. Not to forget, the 4K UHD broadcast is only available through the 4K-capable Astro Ultra Box.

Meanwhile, Astro has also announced that Interactive Mode will be made available to Astro Sports Pack customers that are going to catch the UEFA Euro 2020 through the Astro GO app and website. The new mode will allow them to check out matches and player statistics as well as replay goals, chances, and other highlights during live matches. For more details on the Astro Sports Pack, you can check out this UEFA Euro 2020-specific section of Astro’s official website right here.
