The trailer starts off with a scene akin to something from Astral Chain, another Platinum Games title. Only after about 89 seconds into the trailer does the Umbra Witch show up, confirming that it is indeed a trailer for Bayonetta 3. The remaining two minutes of the trailer is a generous showing of gameplay, though nothing will be too unfamiliar to fans of the series. Though one new feature of the game looks to be the ability to fully summon and control demons like Gomorrah and Phantasmaraneae. Picture a mix of the Aeon summoning of Final Fantasy X and the gameplay of V from Devil May Cry V. It’s definitely a great addition to the series, complementing the character action with the spectacle of large scale monster battles. It all looks incredibly exciting, but unfortunately there’s no release date for Bayonetta 3 yet. All that’s available is a very wide 2022 window. Though like the second game, this will likely be a Nintendo Switch exclusive. (Source: Nintendo / YouTube)
