According to a report by DPReview, the version 01.00.0340 update was released on 10 August. Although its file size was not specified, the site noted that the installation will take some time and is recommended to have the DJI Mavic Air 2 to be fully charged for this.
Once installed, the updated firmware will have several of the drone’s functions to be improved – including the FPV mode for its gimbal, shooting performance when flying forward in Sport mode, and better ActiveTrack when tracking vehicles at low altitude. The Hyperlapse mode on the Mavic Air 2 also saw a complete overhaul with the inclusion of pause shooting, increased number of waypoints to 45, an option to shoot on 4K resolution, and added support for Task Library. As mentioned earlier, new camera features are also introduced in this new update. The DJI Mavic Air 2 is now able to support 2x digital zoom when shooting in 4K and 2.7K resolution, while 1080p will enable it to support up to 4x zoom. Lastly, a new Safety Flight Mode has been added which allows the drone to avoid obstacles automatically. (Source: DPreview)
