So what’s new? According to DJI, the Pocket 2 is equipped with an improved 1/1.7-Inch sensor that is able to snap 64MP stills and record up to 4K videos at 60 fps. Other than that, other new features include HDR video capability, 8x zoom, stereo audio recording, remote microphone support, improved 3-axis stabilisation and ActiveTrack 3.0. On the software side of things, the new compact device features 3×3 Panorama mode, Timelapse, AI Editor, and Story Mode. The latter allows users to create “mini-movies” with ease by using video and music templates. These features could also be managed via the DJI companion app for mobile devices.
One of the biggest additions to the Pocket 2 is the ability to swap in different control modules on the panel above the record and shutter button. As seen in the leaks prior to this, the default module that is included with the handheld is the mini control stick which allows users to manually move the camera.
The second module introduced by DJI is the Controller Wheel that functions similarly to the control stick, but instead uses a, well, wheel for more precise adjustments. Other accessories revealed for the Pocket 2 includes a wide-angle lens attachment, charging case, tripod mount, and many more. The DJI Pocket 2 is offered in two varieties: a standard package, and a Creator Combo that comes with additional accessories. These are available now via DJI’s official website and are priced at US$349 (~RM1,448) and US$499 (~RM2,070) respectively. Local availability and pricing has not been confirmed at this time.
