Despite having similar design language, Sense is being positioned as a higher-tier model when compared to the Versa 3. Among the main difference between these two models is the EDA Scan app on Sense that allows users to keep track of their electrodermal activity which could provide an insight on how their body responds to stress. Sense is also equipped with electrocardiogram (ECG) capability although this particular feature does need approval from local authorities before users are allowed to utilise it in their market. With around six days of battery life, the swim-proof Sense also comes with an on-wrist skin temperature sensor which may allow users to detect signs of fever or the start of the menstrual cycle. As for Versa 3, its general design may look almost identical to its predecessors but Fitbit has equipped it with several upgrades. For starters, Versa 3 comes with built-in GPS which is great news for runners, hikers, and cyclists that are not fond of the Connected GPS function on previous Versa models.
Other than that, users can now also take calls on their Versa 3 if they connect it to Android phones. In addition to Google Assistant support, the new health watch also comes with fast charging capability which allows it to obtain one day worth of operating time with just 12 minutes of charging time although it still has similar battery life rating as per Sense at six days. Instead of having two separate models, the follow-up to the Inspire and Inspire HR comes in just one form: the Inspire 2. The new model carries several improvements including a brighter display and longer battery life of up to 10 days alongside new exercise modes and Active Zone Minutes.
Interesting enough, Fitbit has also decided to pair the Inspire 2 with a one-year worth of Fitbit Premium subscription. Since Fitbit Premium subscription already costs RM 335 per year in Malaysia, that is surely a value for money addition to the new fitness tracker but you have to sign up for a new Premium account to take advantage of it though. In terms of pricing in Malaysia, the Fitbit Sense will start at RM 1498 while the Fitbit Versa 3 and Fitbit Inspire 2 will be made available for RM 1148 and RM 498 respectively. The exact release date for these health wearables in Malaysia has not yet been revealed but consumers throughout the world can expect to see them in stores sometime in October.
