Specifications and feature-wise, both cards are nearly identical, save for the slight differences in cooler shroud aesthetics and warranty period for each card. At a glance, the RTX 3080 Gaming is more streamlined in its design, while retaining that aggressive look. Whereas the RTX 3080 Eagle’s shroud looks slightly more industrial and blocky. Oh, and it also has the “Eagle branding emblazoned at on the acrylic at the end of the card.
Aesthetics notwithstanding, both cards are based on NVIDIA’s 8nm Ampere GPU architecture, come with 10GB GDDR6X running at 19000Gbps, Gigabyte’s WINDFORCE 3X cooling system that spin in alternate directions, and a massive heatsink that extends well beyond the card’s PCB. Ports-wise, both cards come with three DisplayPort 1.4a ports and two HDMI 2.1 ports. Also, they both require two 8-pin PCIe connectors to run. Both the Gigabyte Geforce RTX 3080 Gaming OC and RTX 3080 Eagle OC are already available at all authorised resellers and PC shops. Pricing for the cards starts at RM3789 for the RTX 3080 Eagle, while the RTX 3080 Gaming retails for RM3899. Also, remember the differences we mentioned earlier? It seems that the RTX 3080 Gaming is the only one of the two that gets a 4-year warranty, while the RTX 3080 Eagle doesn’t.
So, if you were asked to pick up one of these cards, we wouldn’t blame you if you decided to lean towards the RTX 3080 Gaming, if only because of its warranty.
