Valid until 19 August 2019, the license covers four major areas including the operation, maintenance, and support for existing fully operational network and equipment. Huawei is also allowed to provide service and support for handsets that were released into the market on or before 16 May 2019.

Additionally, Huawei is also allowed to engage in activities related to cybersecurity research including the ability to receive security vulnerability disclosures. Not to forget, the company can also continue its role in 5G development effort alongside recognized international industry-related organizations. While the temporary license might provide some relief for Huawei and its customers, the company still need to figure out its next move as soon as possible. It is certainly a monumental task given everything that is at stake right here which involved not only Huawei’s operation in the US but also throughout the world.
