Starting with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, it now weighs 1.08kg and measures in at 14.95mm thin. Lenovo claims that this makes it the “world’s lightest commercial 14-inch notebook,”. The X1 Carbon also gets an optional carbon fibre weave on its lid.
On the inside, there’s an 8th Gen Intel Core processor, 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage. As for the display, the options are between Full HD and 4K HDR panels which sounds pretty impressive. That said, you’ll probably want the former if you want it to hit the rated 15-hour battery life.
Moving on to the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga, it’s got its own design tweaks to make it thinner and lighter than before. This brings its new measurements to 1.35kg in weight and 15.2mm in thinness. Part of it is down to the new aluminum chassis. The refresh of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga sees it getting internals much like the X1 Carbon. This means an 8th Gen Intel Core processor, 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage.
Both the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga will be available in June 2019. Their prices begin at US$1709 (~RM7020) and US$1929 (~RM7923), respectively.
