A teaser trailer for the Netflix Tekken adaptation is now out. From what we can see, the central plot is a sort of origin story for series protagonist Jin Kazama. Timeline wise, it should fit sometime in between Tekken 2 and 3, as it shows his mother, Jun Kazama, training him in his teenage years. Then there’s the appearance of Ancient Ogre, the main antagonist of Tekken 3, which is also Jin’s debut game.

Then there are flashes of other characters that will presumably make an appearance in the adaptation. These include Ganryu, Paul Phoenix, King, Kazuya Mishima, and even series newcomer and Tekken 7 DLC character, Leroy Smith. As mentioned, Netflix plans to release its Tekken anime adaptation sometime this year. But the trailer does not provide a specific date.
