The leak was first spotted by Hot Hardware on the SiSoft’s SANDRA benchmark site and it lists down what is clearly the performance metrics of an 11th Gen Core i7-1165G7. The Tiger Lake CPU in question merely boasts 4-cores and 8-threads, but more importantly, its overall score is listed as 7.71GB/s. That was achieved with an average clock speed of 2.8GHz.
In comparison to its predecessor, a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7, the 11th Gen Core i7-1165G7 shows an average performance increase of 55% across the boards, with an 82% increase in multi-media Quad-int applications. By another earlier comparison, the performance of the Tiger Lake CPU is more aligned to AMD’s Ryzen 7 4800U, at least, in regards to its graphics performance. Once again, as with all leaks and rumours, it’s best to take this news with a very liberal sprinkling of salt. As it stands, Intel’s Tiger Lake CPU is still in development, meaning that the statistics that we’re seeing here may not be fully optimised or could’ve even been modified and tweaked to satisfy a particular need of the semiconductor maker. In any case, we’ll just have to wait until the actual launch to find out more. (Source: SiSoft SANDRA via Hot Hardware)
