As a start, the Galaxy A70 has a slightly bigger 6.7-inch Super AMOLED 20:9 Infinity-U display versus the 6.4-inch Infinity-U display seen with the Galaxy A30 and A50. Adding on to that, it’s also the first phone in the new Galaxy A series have Samsung’s On-Display fingerprint scanner embedded in it. The Galaxy A70 also possesses considerably larger camera sensors than the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50. The triple camera array at the back comprises a 32MP f/1.7 main sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor. For the front-facing camera, Samsung has fitted a 32MP f/2.0 sensor into the notch. Compared to the 25MP sensor in the Galaxy A50 or 16MP camera in the Galaxy A30.
Specs-wise, the Galaxy A70 is fitted with an octa-core Exynos SoC running in a 2+6 configuration, has either 6GB or 8GB RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and runs Android 9.0 Pie with Samsung’s One UI out of the box. Powering the phone is a large 4500mAh battery that supports Samsung’s Super Fast charging technology. Oddly enough, Samsung did specify if the phone possesses a USB 2.0 or USB-C port for connectivity. Lastly, the phone also has dual SIM card support. The Samsung Galaxy A70 will be available in four colour schemes, Black, Blue, Coral, and White. There’s still no word about local pricing and availability, but the brand did state in its official press release that more information will be revealed on 10 April 2019.
