According to the included patch note, the firmware upgrade includes the aforementioned Samsung DeX improvements, new WiFi features, Bitmoji Sticker support on Always On Display, new SOS feature for Messages, and new features for the camera app. Also included are several device stability improvements, bug fixes, and the 1 August security patch. Besure to be connected to WiFi when you’re downloading this update, as it comes in at over 1GB in size.
One of the major highlights in this firmware upgrade is the added functionalities to the Galaxy S20 series’ camera app. Single Take now allows users to determine a desired duration when capturing media, wide-angle is included in Live Focus Photo, and Pro Video mode now supports up to 10x zoom and the ability to switch between different mics for audio input. As previously reported, the new One UI 2.5 update is also planned for Samsung’s previous flagship series including the Galaxy S10 and Note 10, as well as its new foldable smartphones such as the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip. The company did not specify when it is expected to be rolled out for these devices, however. (Thanks @hiw200 for the tip!)
