According to Setel’s website, two of the three new locations are in Kuala Lumpur while there is also one in Negeri Sembilan. Here is the full list of Setel EV Charging locations at the moment with the top three being the latest addition to the list: The Nizra Building, Kampung Sungai Penchala, Kuala Lumpur: Type 2 connector – 22kW AC / CHAdeMO connector – 50 kW DC / CCS2 connector – 60kW DC Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur: Type 2 connector – 22kW AC Sembayu Villa, Seremban: Type 2 connector – 22kW AC EV Connection Workshop, Petaling Jaya: Type 2 connector – 22kW AC ACO Group HQ, Johor Bharu: CCS connector – 180kW DC Carsome PJ Automall: Type 2 connector – 22kW AC / CCS & CHAdeMO connectors – 50 kW DC Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort Penang: Type 2 connector – 22kW AC / CCS & CHAdeMO connector – 50 kW DC Lotus’s (formerly Tesco) Kepong: Type 2 connector – 7.4kW AC Price-wise, the charging fee at The Nizra Building is RM1.40 per minute while the other two locations cost 50 sen per 15 minutes each. This difference in the pricing does not come as a surprise though given that Nizra Building is providing a DC fast charger while the other two are the slower AC charger. Based on our checks, all of the three new locations are listed in the JomCharge app as well. This means that their addition to the list was made possible through the collaboration between Setel and EV Connection who is the operator of the JomCharge network, just like the previous five locations. For those who missed the original announcement, Setel users can utilize the charger at EV Connection Workshop and ACQ HQ for free. On the other hand, it costs RM1.20 per minute to charge your EV at Carsome PJ Automall and Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort Penang while the fee for the charger at Lotus’s Kepong is 50 sen per 15 minutes. The EV Charging experience is almost similar to the normal refuelling Petronas station as you need to be at the charging location in order to activate the charger. Once you begin the activation process, choose the appropriate connector and plug it into your EV when prompted. Once you feel that your EV has enough battery juice, you can then proceed to manually stop the charging session using the method stipulated by the manufacturer of your EV and the charging fee will then be deducted from your Setel wallet. Do note that you can’t manually stop your charging session through the Setel app, so do make sure that you really know how to perform it through your EV.
