Specs-wise, the RX0 II features the same 1-inch, 15.3MP sensor that was first introduced in the RX0. Along with the waterproof and rugged camera body, the ZEISS Tessar T 24mm f/4 wide-angle lens is enough to capture everything in its field of view with no distortion. It also has a minimum focusing distance of 20cm, making it the perfect device for on-desk recording. As mentioned earlier, the newest addition to the RX0 II is the waterproof, 180-degree tiltable LCD panel. It can flip up for vlogging, and also flip down for different shooting angles. A wide sensitivity range of ISO 80-12800 and 4K30p recording means the camera is perfect just about anywhere to capture high-res footage and images – even in low light. Plus, it can record 1000 fps Super Slow Motion footage and even records in the uncompressed S-Log2 video format.
Other features include a built-in electronic stabilisation for shake-free footage, Wi-Fi connectivity, multi-camera triggering, as well as support for microSD to store your recorded video. Sony will be ship the camera from April onward with a suggested retail price of approximately USD700 (~RM2847). There’s still no word from Sony Malaysia regarding local pricing and availability.
