The design of the Xperia 5 II was revealed in its full glory, thanks to a leaked promotional video obtained by Android Headlines. Much like last year’s model, the new smartphone retains the series’ tall design – complemented by a display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. According to the website, the phone features a 6.1-inch Full HD+ HDR OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and instead of a punch-hole cutout or a notch, its front-facing camera is located on the upper bezel of its screen. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 865 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of 128GB (expandable via microSD). Powering the Xperia 5 II is a 4,000mAh battery, but it’s still not known if it will feature any fast-charging capability. A USB-C port is located at the bottom of the phone, and a dedicated camera shutter button is situated on its lower right side. What sets it apart from last year’s model is the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack on top.

Android Headlines noted that the Xperia 5 II’s cameras are seemingly identical to the ones included on the Xperia 1 II, complete with Zeiss T* lenses. Specifically, the phone features a triple-camera setup consisting of a 12MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide, and 12MP telephoto with 3x zoom capability. Unfortunately, no details were provided regarding its front-facing camera.

The site added that the Sony Xperia 5 II is expected to be officially revealed on 17 September. Last year’s Xperia 5 launched locally at the price of RM3,399, so there is a chance that the new smartphone will retail around that range. On a somewhat related note; the Sony Xperia 10 II is now available locally, while the Xperia 1 II flagship is slated for a Malaysian release this November. (Source: Android Headlines)
