Geoff Keighley said on Twitter that The Game Awards’ nominee announcement will be livestreamed on the date itself. The exact time is “noon ET / 9am PT”, which translates to 1am the next day for us.

Join me next Wednesday at Noon ET / 9 am PT for the livestream announcement of the nominees for this year’s show at https://t.co/JhGKODahXK And see you LIVE on December 10. pic.twitter.com/OkZ3PLTpZL — Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) November 11, 2020 It’s easy to see a number of games on The Game Awards’ Game of the Year nominations list. First is The Last of Us Part II. While the game will deservedly get at least a nomination for best performance for the voice actors, it will likely be nominated for GotY simply thanks to its controversy bonus points. Another is Ghost of Tsushima. The base game itself was brilliant, and on its own deserving of a nomination. Add on top of that the Legends free DLC that outdoes full-priced games laden with microtransactions, and you should have a winning recipe. Other possible nominees will likely include Hades, the indie darling of this year, and Half-Life: Alyx, the most substantial VR title of the year. But we’ll find out for sure if these titles do indeed get nominated for GotY during The Game Awards. (Source: Geoff Keighley / Twitter)
