According to Montreal Police, the suspect threatened to blow up Ubisoft Montreal, but was willing to stay his hand if they paid him US$2 million (~RM8.25 million) in ransom. Shortly after the call, Canadian authorities its version of a SWAT team, the SPVM, came to investigate the threat at the location, but found no evidence of it. For the staff members at Ubisoft Montreal, the day would’ve clearly been both exciting and worrying, given that they could’ve been injured or worse, killed people.
